How the simulation works

Turn image structure into a layer-by-layer voxel study

Voxel Relief Printer samples an image in your browser, converts brightness or silhouettes into bounded voxel layers, and then animates those layers inside an orbitable 3D scene. It is useful for exploring shape, depth, symmetry, and multi-view form before you commit to a more technical modeling workflow.

Plate

Raises pixels from a flat backing plate. Use it for logos, icons, portraits, and height-map studies.

Mirrored

Builds a symmetric double-sided relief when the object needs a readable front and back silhouette.

Lathed

Revolves an image profile around a center axis. It works best for bottles, chess pieces, vases, and other radial forms.

Multi-view

Combines front and side silhouettes into one visual hull. Use simple, high-contrast source images for the clearest result.

A practical workflow

  1. 1. Choose a clean source. Strong silhouettes and limited background detail produce more legible layers.
  2. 2. Pick the forming mode. Match the mode to the kind of depth or symmetry the subject actually has.
  3. 3. Tune resolution and depth. Start small, inspect the shape, then add detail only when it improves the form.
  4. 4. Run and inspect. Orbit the print, watch the layer order, and save a PNG when the study communicates the intended shape.

Know the output boundary

This is a visual simulator, not a fabrication pipeline. It does not generate STL files, toolpaths, G-code, wall thickness, supports, or printer-safe dimensions. Treat the PNG as a concept image or shape reference. For Minecraft construction, use the image-to-block Blueprint workflow instead.
